Turd twin 1 + 2 scored yesterday and tonight.

Need to keep the consistency going. G and V can't do it all.

I think he fell into a wormhole and got teleported into an alternate dimension where La La Land didn't win any Golden Globes

Tonight's game would be the definition of the officials giving a game away. I know refs get blamed a lot, but they AND Toronto, single handedly lost this game for the Flyers. Either they both count or they both don't, but either way that game doesn't make it to OT. This challenge crap has to go, because they have ZERO consistency on a night to night basis.

Any road point is a good point, and as stated in the blog, 3-of-4 points this weekend, especially the regulation win on Saturday, is a great outcome.

I have little doubt that some are worried about the second half of the season after the stretch they had, but I'm not. There are peaks and valleys every single season, stretches where teams look unbeatable and stretches where you don't look like you will win another game.

They're gonna make the playoffs.

It's funny how you say something you find funny and than continuously use it, like wheels. You never bother to think of something clever, you just keep using the same juvenile crap and beat it to absolute death.

It truly is a new Flyers era. For as far back as I can remember, if the Flyers found themselves in the current situation we are now, they would have struck a deal. When it comes to Hextall, I guess I'm waiting to see how far he's willing to go in terms of improving the team. The worst is behind us now that Vinny and Umberger are gone. I think now I'd to see him do more than cut payroll and plug a few holes.

Seems pretty logical. Too bad the coach can't see that.

I can see why fans are worried about the second half because the Metro has been very competitive and even the Eastern teams fighting for the wild card have improved their play as of late. But, as you said, there are peaks and valleys every season for each team so I am not too worried. What matters the most to me is that our team is playing competitive hockey and that it's an exciting fight in the process, which this season certainly has been thus far.

Pens blogger saying they are in on Landskog? Who knows if it is true but you would have to believe a Dman coming back to Avs is something they would want in any deal for Landeskog.
That is the type of player the Flyers need. But I am sure negotiations would start with Ghost

I know there's been some chatter here amongst us about dealing Ghost, and even specifically for Landy, but i personally would hold off from doing that trade during the season if we were to make it; and ideally the Avs hold off as well (depends how much they panic). Here's a tough one though: If Shattenkirk hits FA, and we have an opportunity to sign/land him, do you trade Ghost in a deal for a 1W or 2C or stay away from Shatty and keep Ghost?

The Flyers would need to make a significant move other than including Gostisbehere in the deal, to make it work with the cap.

Tough call. IMO they need a legit #1 LW, and a legit 2nd Centre ( I like#14 but don't think he is a 2 centre). Don't think they need Shattenkirk as D prospects are their strength and hey IF they are to make a deal ( highly doubt it) you would think they deal from a position of strength .

I would not want a trade like that right now unless it is on par with the Hall-Larsson trade

Not to mention the Blue Jackets are well ahead of the competition. The points they score will most likely be irrelevant to the Flyers chances of making the playoffs. Getting that point was big.

I have been annoyed all year by lineup decisions and poor defensive play, but the fact is that the games in the second half of the season against Metro opponents will be huge. They will have to be better than their 4-4-1 record against the Metro

It's tough to tell which is a bigger need between 1LW or 2C, but I think if we had a legit 1LW with a score first mentality on a line with Jake and G it could make some serious noise in the NHL. I mean the two of them as a duo were one of the best in the league, it would be scary to add a legit scoring threat with them. We don't need him (Shatty) but he could be a solid veteran dman for the now and near future with Schultz, Streit, and even MDZ coming off the books. I know our prospects look great, but you never know if they will live up to their potential in the NHL whereas Shatty is well-established.

Thought Ghost was outstanding last night. Had one bad play at his own blue line where he allowed a 2 on 1. Created so many entries though. His puck carrying through the neutral zone was really needed in a game like last night.

My problem is if you sign Shatty one of our D prospects probably becomes JvR. Traded for a need, Then breaks out and we all sit here female doging about that trade happening. I'm fully still on board with the Hextall draft and develop plan.

Doubt they are signing Shattenkirk. I get wanting a right handed defender, but I think his defense gets a little overrated. 1 man breakout and great offensively though. Drives posession. Contract will be Goligoski++ if he makes it to UFA

I don't want Shattenkirk. He is going to get paid. Look at the FA defenseman and he is by far at the top and going to get a ton of money from someone.

Any deal I would make would be for an impact winger to play in the top 6. I feel that is what is lacking a little in the system. I think they have some great d prospects and some solid bottom 6 types but lack a little of the high end stuff.
